Henrob Laparoscopy Hospital Zzana, in collaboration with ALASU and Endometriosis Foundation Uganda, organized a unique workshop from March 20th to 22nd, 2023. The event provided sonographers, radiologists, and gynecologists with the opportunity to learn endometriosis diagnosis using Transvaginal Scan (TVS). More than 50 women with endometriosis were scanned, showcasing various lessons and techniques.

Endometriosis is a chronic condition where uterine tissue grows outside the uterus, causing pain and infertility. Early and accurate diagnosis is crucial for effective management. TVS has emerged as a powerful tool in diagnosing endometriosis, offering precise imaging of the pelvic region.

The workshop, held at Henrob Laparoscopy Hospital Zzana, attracted medical professionals from Uganda. They received hands-on training in performing TVS and interpreting results to identify endometriosis lesions. Expert practitioners guided the participants, fostering comprehensive understanding through discussions and demonstrations.

Renowned experts shared their knowledge on endometriosis diagnosis and management during interactive sessions. They emphasized the importance of a multidisciplinary approach for accurate diagnosis and comprehensive care. Case studies, research findings, and best practices were presented to optimize endometriosis diagnosis and treatment.

ALASU, a professional association for sonography and ultrasonography, played a crucial role in organizing the workshop. Collaboration between Henrob Laparoscopy Hospital Zzana and the Endometriosis Foundation Uganda demonstrated their commitment to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care.

Participants expressed gratitude for the workshop, stating that it provided invaluable skills and increased confidence in diagnosing endometriosis using TVS. The event created a platform for professionals to learn from each other’s expertise and enhance their knowledge.
